Established in 1926, it initially served as a gathering place for Lam Ann people and gradually developed into a significant center for cultural preservation, economic cooperation, and community development.
Over the years, it has facilitated various initiatives such as the establishment and restoration of Fengshan Temple, cultural activities, fundraising for temple renovations, and promoting youth engagement through initiatives like the establishment of youth groups.
Through multifaceted efforts, the association continues to promote the spirit of Nan’an, strengthen bonds among its members, and contribute to the cultural and economic development of Singapore.

Founded in 1836 by early immigrants from Nan’an, Hong San See Temple served as a place of worship and solace for newcomers seeking blessings, protection, and a sense of belonging. The temple is dedicated to Guangze Zunwang (Guo Zhongfu), a deity deeply revered by the Nan’an community.
On 10 January 2026, the Singapore Lam Ann Association marked the first milestone of its Centennial with a tree-planting activity.
In February, the Singapore Lam Ann Association continued its momentous Centennial Celebrations with a second flagship event: “A Hundred Blessings, Woven to Home”.
More than 100 booths were set up at the festival to symbolise the Association’s 100-year milestone, offering over 300 varieties of food and setting a record in the Singapore Book of Records.
Centred on the traditional virtues of loyalty, filial piety, compassion, and righteousness, the event showcased the enduring values of responsibility, respect for elders, care for others, and moral integrity through historical figures and classic stories.
