Singapore Lam Ann Association Centennial Celebration Gala Dinner
On 29 November 2026, the Singapore Lam Ann Association will celebrate its centenary. Guests will be welcomed by 100 lion dancers and 10 dragons, and the evening will feature the premiere of our new Association anthem, a centenary exhibition and stage performances, before ending in a grand finale. We look forward to celebrating this milestone with you.
Established in 1926, it initially served as a gathering place for Lam Ann people and gradually developed into a significant center for cultural preservation, economic cooperation, and community development.
Over the years, it has facilitated various initiatives such as the establishment and restoration of Fengshan Temple, cultural activities, fundraising for temple renovations, and promoting youth engagement through initiatives like the establishment of youth groups.
Through multifaceted efforts, the association continues to promote the spirit of Nan’an, strengthen bonds among its members, and contribute to the cultural and economic development of Singapore.

Founded in 1836 by early immigrants from Nan’an, Hong San See Temple served as a place of worship and solace for newcomers seeking blessings, protection, and a sense of belonging. The temple is dedicated to Guangze Zunwang (Guo Zhongfu), a deity deeply revered by the Nan’an community.
The Singapore Lam Ann Association, is one of Singapore’s oldest Min-Nan-based (Hokkien dialect ethnic group) clan associations, and was officially founded in 1926. Over the past century, it has played a vital role in community and nation building.
On 10 January 2026, the Singapore Lam Ann Association marked the first milestone of its Centennial with a tree-planting activity.
In February, the Singapore Lam Ann Association continued its momentous Centennial Celebrations with a second flagship event: “A Hundred Blessings, Woven to Home”.
March’s event “Keeping Pace with the Times”, was an imaging exhibition that invites one hundred families to create unique “future family portraits” using their ancestral hometowns as cultural DNA and the power of artificial intelligence.
More than 100 booths were set up at the festival to symbolise the Association’s 100-year milestone, offering over 300 varieties of food and setting a record in the Singapore Book of Records.
Centred on the traditional virtues of loyalty, filial piety, compassion, and righteousness, the event showcased the enduring values of responsibility, respect for elders, care for others, and moral integrity through historical figures and classic stories.
On 6 June 2026, more than 120 seasoned entrepreneurs, professionals, and aspiring young business leaders gathered at the Lee Kong Chian Hall of Lam Ann Association, Singapore, for Opportunities Abound, Inspiring Excellence, a flagship event in the Association’s Centennial Celebration series.
On 11 July 2026, 250 members and their families arrived full of excitement to take part in the Lam Ann Association’s Centennial Celebration Series Activity No. 7, “Journeying Through Nan’an’s Architectural Heritage.” Together, they explored 10 local heritage sites over a century old, gaining insight into Singapore’s early history and multicultural character.
To celebrate its centenary, the Lam Ann Association will showcase one hundred commemorative treasures exchanged with a hundred Lam Ann chambers of commerce and hometown associations worldwide. The exhibition brings together representative gifts from around the globe, each one a conversation, a handshake, or an expression of shared sentiment. These treasures are not only symbols of friendship but also embody the Lam Ann community’s spirit of enterprise across the world while remaining deeply connected to their ancestral homeland.
Built in the early 1970s, the association building carries 50 years of history and countless cherished memories. It will be demolished by the end of this year and rebuilt as a new 10-storey building. Before demolition, the association recycled part of the building’s construction materials and had artists transform them into 20 artworks, preserving their spirit and memory.
