- 1836 --In the 16th year of Daoguang, reign of the Qing Dynasty (1836), the Nan’an sage Liang Rengui and others built the Hong San See Temple near Qingshan Pavilion (Wali Street at Tanjong Pagar MRT Station). In the 7th year of Tongzhi, the former sages Cai Pengnan, Song Qilin and others initiated the renovation project of the temple.
- 1905 -- For the needs of the Telok Ayer reclamation project, the Straits Settlements government requisitioned the temple land in 1905. Using the compensation money, the temple directors purchased land on Mohamed Sultan Road (formerly known as Shui Leng Tou) and rebuilt the Hong San See Temple.
- 1908 --The reconstruction project began in 1908 and the current Hong San See Temple was completed in 1913.
- 1914 --In light of the fact that many children in the neighborhood need a school to receive education, Hong San See Temple used the side chambers on both sides of the temple to establish Nan Ming School. The school accommodated over a hundred needy children, regardless of their races and religions, allowing them to receive an education. Nan Ming School ceased operations in 1930 due to a decline in student enrolment.
- 1973 --The Lam Ann Association officially took over the management of Hong San See Temple.
- 1978 -- Hong San See Temple has been gazetted as a national monument by the National Heritage Board.
- 2004 -- The century-old Hong San See Temple, under the management of the association, has once again suffered severe damage from termite infestation. The association started a major restoration work for the temple in 2004, and completed in end of year 2009.
- 2010 -- Received the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation-Award of Excellence.
- 2013 -- Awarded the URA Architectural Heritage Awards by Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore.
- 2023—Hong San See Temple hosted a grand celebration for Shenggong’s birthday on the 22nd day of the second lunar month. A banquet of 100 tables was held for guests and fellow clansmen. During the celebration, we set the records in the Singapore Book of Records for 2023 with the largest Huat Kueh (Fa Gao), tallest Mian Xian Tower and Shou Tao Tower. Mr. Tan Aik Hock, the executive advisor of the association, donated a "Hundred Blessings Painting" as one of the auction items. The auction successfully raised SGD 100,000 for three charitable welfare organizations: Sian Chay Medical Institution, Cheng Hong Welfare Service Society, and SUNCARE SG.
- 2024—In this year’s celebration of Shenggong’s birthday, our association’s president, Neo Ka Kiat, donated back the "Hundred Blessings Painting" he had auctioned in 2023. The painting was auctioned again raising SGD 100,000 for several charitable organizations: Cheng Hong Welfare Service Society, Sian Chay Medical Institution, Metta Welfare Association, and Thong Chai Medical Institution.Once again, we set the records in the Singapore Book of Records for 2024 with the largest Huat Kueh, Shou Tao Tower and Mian Xian Tower.
