The Singaporean Nan\u2019an community is deeply rooted in its heritage and boasts a strong sense of togetherness. With special ties to the Minnan (Southern Hokkien) ethnic group, they actively engage in cultural, academic, and educational exchanges. The Lam Ann Spirit serves as the unifying force for the people of Lam Ann, encompassing:<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

(i)<\/strong> The Spirit of Guo Zhongfu (Shenggong Spirit): Resilience and perseverance, loyalty and filial piety, benevolence, righteousness, and integrity.<\/p>

(ii) <\/strong>The Spirit of Li Zhi (Wenling Scholar): Innovation and reform, business ethics, foresight, loyalty, patriotism, justice, and magnanimity.<\/p>

(iii) <\/strong>The Spirit of Zheng Chenggong (Koxinga): Confidence, pioneering courage, bold ventures, business acumen, loyalty to the nation, and the aspiration for harmony and unity.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Nan\u2019an Spirit blends these three forces, ingraining itself in the hearts and minds of the Lam Ann community. It drives the prosperity of community organizations and fuels the vitality of the Nan\u2019an people. With the aim to unite the people of Nan\u2019an and help resolve difficulties and problems of the clansmen, the venerable Wang Jialu, Hou Xifan, Lee Kong Chian, Neo Tiew, and other pioneers initiated the establishment of the Lam Ann Association and held meetings at Hong San See Temple.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

1926<\/div><\/div>

The Lam Ann Association's Executive Committee was officially formed, with the association's club house located at 59 Ann Siang Hill.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The association registered as a Public Company Limited by Guarantee under the 1940 Companies Act and received government approval.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The Committee proposed renovating the association club house. After due discussions, they decided to construct a five-story Lam Ann Association building on the vacant land in front of Hong San See Temple on Mohamed Sultan Road.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Through contributions and fundraising efforts from various parties, the new association building held its groundbreaking ceremony on January 10.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The Lam Ann Association officially took over the management of Hong San See Temple.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

A double celebration was held for the association's golden jubilee and the completion of the new building.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Held the Five Celebrations, which included the 80th anniversary of the association, the hosting of the \"First Nan An Economic Forum @ Singapore,\" the 170th anniversary of Hong San See Temple, the 18th anniversary of the Youth Group, and the 48th anniversary of the Mutual Help Association.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Organized a seven-day \" \"Bringing your children to trace your ancestral roots in Nan'an Fujian\" trip, with 138 members and their families participating.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Awarded the \"Outstanding Association Award 2013\" by the Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Hosted the \"12th World Convention of Nanan Clansmen and the 88th Anniversary of the Lam Ann Association\" at Resorts World Sentosa Convention Centre and held the \"Second Nan An Economic Forum @ Singapore.\"<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

From 2016 to 2019, held a large-scale elderly care event, the \"Caring Luncheon,\" every October during the Double Ninth Festival (the ninth day of the ninth lunar month). The event included lunch and performances to bring warmth to the elderly during the festive season. It was later suspended due to the pandemic.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Organized another Nan\u2019an roots-seeking trip. The eight-day \"Tracing your ancestral roots in Nan'an Fujian\" tour attracted 190 members and their families joined with the trip.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Hosted the \"Inaugural Singapore Hokkien Lam Ann Festival,\" a ten-day event showcasing the Nan\u2019an spirit, Shenggong spirit, temple culture, and Nan\u2019an cuisine, attracting tens of thousands of attendees and receiving high praise.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n
