the clansmen, the venerable Wang Jialu, Hou Xifan, Lee Kong Chian, Neo Tiew, and other pioneers initiated the establishment of the Lam Ann Association and held meetings at Hong San See Temple.<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ta-timeline-item ta-right\"><div class=\"ta-timeline-year\">1926<\/div><div class=\"ta-timeline-content\"><span class=\"ta-timeline-arrow\"><\/span><div class=\"ta-timeline-text\">The Lam Ann Association's Executive Committee was officially formed, with the association's club house located at 59 Ann Siang Hill.<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ta-timeline-item ta-left\"><div class=\"ta-timeline-year\">1950<\/div><div class=\"ta-timeline-content\"><span class=\"ta-timeline-arrow\"><\/span><div class=\"ta-timeline-text\">The association registered as a Public Company Limited by Guarantee under the 1940 Companies Act and received government approval.<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ta-timeline-item ta-right\"><div class=\"ta-timeline-year\">1952<\/div><div class=\"ta-timeline-content\"><span class=\"ta-timeline-arrow\"><\/span><div class=\"ta-timeline-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" association club house. After due discussions, they decided to construct a five-story Lam Ann Association building on the vacant land in front of Hong San See Temple on Mohamed Sultan Road.<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ta-timeline-item ta-left\"><div class=\"ta-timeline-year\">1970<\/div><div class=\"ta-timeline-content\"><span class=\"ta-timeline-arrow\"><\/span><div class=\"ta-timeline-text\">Through contributions and fundraising efforts from various parties, the new association building held its groundbreaking ceremony on January 10.<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ta-timeline-item ta-right\"><div class=\"ta-timeline-year\">1973<\/div><div class=\"ta-timeline-content\"><span class=\"ta-timeline-arrow\"><\/span><div class=\"ta-timeline-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lamann.org\/centennial-celebration\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/image-16.png\" alt=\"\"><\/div><div class=\"ta-timeline-text has-image\">The Lam Ann Association officially took over the management of Hong San See Temple.<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ta-timeline-item ta-left\"><div class=\"ta-timeline-year\">1977<\/div><div class=\"ta-timeline-content\"><span class=\"ta-timeline-arrow\"><\/span><div class=\"ta-timeline-text\">A double celebration was held for the association's golden jubilee and the completion of the new building.<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ta-timeline-item ta-right\"><div class=\"ta-timeline-year\">2006<\/div><div class=\"ta-timeline-content\"><span class=\"ta-timeline-arrow\"><\/span><div class=\"ta-timeline-text\">Held the Five Celebrations, which included the 80th anniversary of the association, the hosting of the \"First Nan An Economic Forum @ Singapore,\" the 170th anniversary of Hong San See Temple, the 18th anniversary of the Youth Group, and the 48th anniversary of the Mutual Help Association.<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ta-timeline-item ta-left\"><div class=\"ta-timeline-year\">2011<\/div><div class=\"ta-timeline-content\"><span class=\"ta-timeline-arrow\"><\/span><div class=\"ta-timeline-text\">Organized a seven-day \" \"Bringing your children to trace your ancestral roots in Nan'an Fujian\" trip, with 138 members and their families participating.<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ta-timeline-item ta-right\"><div class=\"ta-timeline-year\">2013<\/div><div class=\"ta-timeline-content\"><span class=\"ta-timeline-arrow\"><\/span><div class=\"ta-timeline-text\">Awarded the \"Outstanding Association Award 2013\" by the Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations.<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ta-timeline-item ta-left\"><div class=\"ta-timeline-year\">2014<\/div><div class=\"ta-timeline-content\"><span class=\"ta-timeline-arrow\"><\/span><div class=\"ta-timeline-text\">Hosted the \"12th World Convention of Nanan Clansmen and the 88th Anniversary of the Lam Ann Association\" at Resorts World Sentosa Convention Centre and held the \"Second Nan An Economic Forum @ Singapore.\"<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ta-timeline-item ta-right\"><div class=\"ta-timeline-year\">2016<\/div><div class=\"ta-timeline-content\"><span class=\"ta-timeline-arrow\"><\/span><div class=\"ta-timeline-text\">From 2016 to 2019, held a large-scale elderly care event, the \"Caring Luncheon,\" every October during the Double Ninth Festival (the ninth day of the ninth lunar month). The event included lunch and performances to bring warmth to the elderly during the festive season. It was later suspended due to the pandemic.<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ta-timeline-item ta-left\"><div class=\"ta-timeline-year\">2017<\/div><div class=\"ta-timeline-content\"><span class=\"ta-timeline-arrow\"><\/span><div class=\"ta-timeline-text\">Organized another Nan\u2019an roots-seeking trip.
